When did you first start making candles and selling them? Did anyone show you the ropes?

About 6.5 years ago is when I first started making candles. I have always been a DIY person. I love candles, always have. I would spend hundreds on them. I thought, I can do this myself, so I bought myself a kit and made them as gifts for the holidays. I had a blast! I gave one of the candles as a gift to a high school friend, who mentioned she had a friend who was starting a farmers market. So, in 3 weeks I put a whole business together. The first farmers market I did, the US Grant hotel marketing director found me. So, I started doing three signature scents for their VIP customers. The rest is history. I'm self taught so it took a lot of patience and trial and error. I almost quite a couple of times.

What makes your product stand out from the rest?

I try to custom blend most of my candle scents. I try to create an experience for people. I want them to smile when they leave my store or booth.

What inspires you to create? What is your creative process?

Sometimes its a drink on a menu or a name or a vision I have thought up in my head.

Do you have any advice for someone who is starting out making candles either as a hobby or a business?

Passion, patience, character and most important integrity

What is your favorite scent or product you currently sell?

Well, I tend to gravitate toward citrus, so most of the time its citrus based. I think it's a happy smell. Check out Verbena or orange rose water.

What do you love most about San Diego?

The weather!

Is there anyone you would like to thank who has helped you along this journey?

My customers, they are amazing!
